Hot Air Balloon Rides over Staffordshire

Balloon Flights over Staffordshire

Staffordshire is one of the smaller counties in the country but it is by no means without great sites to take off from on a hot air balloon flight.

Balloon rides not too far from the National Trust's Shugborough Hall are run by local operator Virgin Balloon Flights.

They fly from Amerton Railway, offering a Staffordshire hot air balloon flight experience not to be missed.

Situated to the North West of Birmingham and midway between the county town of Stafford, Uttoxeter and Rugeley this is a logical destination for those living in the great metropolis because airspace makes it impossible to fly over the city of Birmingham itself.

Shugborough Hall was home to the 6th Earl of Lichfield, the previous Earl who passed away in 2005 was better known as the photographer Patrick Lichfield. This National Trust property has regular attractions and events to view either before or after your balloon ride.

The Trentham Park estate is to the north of the county and just south of Newcastle Under Lyme and Stoke on Trent, home of the "Potteries" and in particular the world famous Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and Spode china.

The county of Staffordshire is also home to two of the largest theme parks in the country, Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park.
